Stinky!!
Definitely has a gross smell to it!! Also smaller than the votive candles I purchased from Dollar tree. By like half the size! Slightly disappointed BUT I needed them and fast so with that said I won't complain too much. They shipped and arrived literally next day as it said so I'm happy about that 😊

They're very nice candles. They are black all the way through. And they have no scent. I wish they were a little less pricey. As they are about a dollar a candle. And definitely do not last 10 hours. But they are very nice candles. And I have bought several times and will buy again.

I purchased this 12 pack of votive candles for a memorial. My primary interest in these was the color—and on that note, they delivered. Each candle is jet black and uniform in appearance.
Note that these are very small; I’m accustomed to votive candles measuring around 2” tall x 1.5” wide. When I measured the product I received, they came in at 1.5” high, and 1.3” wide—just smaller than the dimensions referenced in the “Production Information” section above. I’ve attached an image of the product with a quarter for scale. I definitely envisioned these being (at least) a little larger in size—but since the dimensions were laid out prior to my purchase, I’m not reducing my score at all for size.
I am however reducing two stars for the following two factors:
1) The smell. These are pungent; they smell oily, and the odor was detectable right away upon opening the packaging. I suspect that this has something to do with the dye, and not the paraffin wax. The odor dissipated a bit once they were lit, though the scent was still mildly detectable.
2) The burn time. Mega Candles writes that this product will burn for “Up to 8 hours”. Based on my experience, that threshold seems extremely optimistic. We got just over four hours out of each candle, and that was in what I would consider ideal conditions (no wind, indoors, ample containers).
Altogether, if you’re after some small, black candles, and are comfortable waiting out the oily odor, these might be a good fit. If you’re looking for something more substantial or just something with a pleasant or neutral fragrance, I have to recommend that you keep looking.
