A God of Gods: Dreams of Chaos Book 3 Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 25 ratings

Chaos has chosen an ending.
After stripping Trotter’s chosen dominion away from her, Chaos forced her into the ancient role of the God of Gods. It is now her responsibility, whether or not she chooses to accept it, to bring Death to all Creation.
Wary of Trotter’s new power, the gods of Realm make a deal with devils from their ancient past. But when the gods begin appearing in Aevum, ragged and terrified by the horrors they’ve unleashed, they discover that something else is using Trotter’s dominion over Death to alter the ending Chaos chose…

In the penultimate book in the DREAMS OF CHAOS series, the stakes have never been higher.

Ashley Chappell is the author of the young adult fantasy Dreams of Chaos series (Alice Will, Tilt and A God of Gods). She is also the author of the irreverent paranormal romp Of War and Taters, a satire set in the fictional deep south.

Upcoming releases include The Hotting, a Dreams of Chaos spinoff adventure for younger readers; The Rimguard, a new adult urban fantasy; and The Harrows, a gritty adventure in which Hell is a job for life. Or rather, a job for the afterlife.

Ms. Chappell currently resides in Huntsville, AL. When not writing, reviewing, or burying her nose in one of her well-worn Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman novels, she can be found sailing with her husband on their boat ‘Dupracity’ (Fans of Kurt Vonnegut will want to ask her what that means).

As usual, Chappell knocks it out of the park. The story is fun from start to finish.

A God of Gods: Dreams of Chaos Book 3 by Ashley Chappell is the latest book in this fantastic series. Once again we are thrust into a world full of magic and wonder but also with heartbreak and a healthy dose of drama. Trotter is at it again having to battle a dark force that is determined to destroy everything. With the gods basically powerless Trotter and her friends will have to find a way to rise again and defeat their most dangerous enemy yet.

This was a fun book to read and I definitely suggest that you read the others to get the full effect of this book since everything is tied together. This book was filled with characters that you could root for and villains for you to boo. The interactions between the characters were well written and the plot was well paced and well written. I truly believe all ages could find this series enjoyable. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something different to read because while I normally don't read this kind of book I was immediately hooked by the storyline and this authors writing. Definitely a book worth a four star rating.

A God of Gods: Dreams of Chaos Book 3
    By: Ashley Chappell
    5 out of 5 stars

The story A God of Gods: Dreams of Chaos Book 3 by Ashley Chappell is the next book in an amazing YA/Fantasy series. I am finding that each book I read just keeps getting better and harder to put down until finished. I love the amount of detail that this book has both in the storyline and about the characters. This story starts with Trotter feeling angry and hurt. Her family, friends, and even her right to choose a dominion has been taken away. She has been forced by Chaos to be the God of Gods without any choice in the matter. It seems that her fate has been chosen for her. The gods of Realm are wary if not in a way fearful of how much power Trotter has and this causes choices to be made that will have consequences for both them and the Realm. Chaos has chosen what is to come next. Is someone with their own selfish agenda trying to interfere with that future? Is there even a chance they will succeed? This book had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about how a lot of the characters are working together in order to stop those with evil intentions from winning. This includes gods, humans, and magical creatures. The determination that they show while darkness is surrounding them will have you rooting for all their plans to succeed. Don’t miss the latest book in the Dreams of Chaos series. This is a series I would recommend reading in order as the characters overlap from one book to the next and as you read each one there are events from the previous book are touched on. This made for a smoother reading experience for me. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

A God of Gods : Dreams of Chaos is the third book in the Dreams of Chaos series by Ashley Chappell. I enjoyed this series as it was well written and by book 3 we are really familiar with the main characters- although the challenges thrown at them are different and seem to escalate with each book. In this book, Trotter is dealt an unexpected blow and has to deal with it with the help of her fantastic friends.
Many familiar characters reappear so it is a good idea to have read the previous 2 books, but I believe it could be read as a standalone as it is a while since I read book 2 and it didn’t lose anything in its distance from that. At times spellbinding, at times emotional, this book was a terrific addition to a fab series. I am sad that there is only one more in the series. If you enjoy YA fantasy books you will enjoy this. It is definitely for those looking to get into a fantasy series that’s a little bit different from the rest.

Ashley Chappell continues her spellbinding series with a tale of tensions between gods. Ever since Trotter declared her dominion as the God of Death, the rest of the gods have feared and distrusted her. Their distrust intensifies when Kaito the god of storms goes missing. Fearing that his disappearance indicates the prophecy to destroy the entire universe is nigh, the gods search for creatures to defeat Trotter whilst a mysterious figure creates religious tensions on Aevum. But when the future is shown to Trotter, will she accept her destructive destiny or make her own fate before its too late?
a brilliant read. an excellent example of a sequel where the stakes are even higher than the last instalment. I loved the sense of darkness and danger throughout. the use of tensions and distrust to create tensions between the gods was beautifully done. familiar characters such as Trotter struggling with her destiny and Prowlers humour return once more to delight. Erics character arc from boy to captain and his insecurities was emotive and powerfully written and Andi was sweet as a little curious six year old. I loved the new mythic additions such as the weaver of fate and also the yetis. this was alongside stunning visual detail of the arches and the yetis of the storm ice kingdom which I thoroughly enjoyed. once again the contrast of colours was masterfully done for bleakness in the ice world and the darkness of the dream world. I also adored the tender scenes with Heala ad Alice and also the stunning visual colour of the flowers in her garden and Cronus' whispering flowers. Overall, a brilliant read and I cant wait for the next instalment and I would give it five stars.

A God of Gods by Ashley Chappell is the third book of the Dreams of Chaos series. I would recommend reading the first two books before tackling this book because it helps to have all the prior information. This book picks up the story of Trotter and the challenges she is faced with handling. She has grown as a character and I have enjoyed her adventures. This YA fantasy is well written and a fun dread. The descriptions are amazing and I am drawn into the world Ashley has created. The characters are interesting and the relationships that have developed are interesting. This one kept me on the edge of my seat until I got it finished.

God of Gods is the third book in the Dreams of Chaos series by Ashley Chappell. It is a Young Adult fantasy packed with action, adventure, mythology, magic, gods, mystical creatures, different realms/worlds… and so much more.
Trotter is struggling with her destiny. This book sees her having to make difficult choices and managing huge responsibilities. Once again, she is caught up in life and death situations that will test her like never before. This is a high stakes adventure that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens and there is so much going on in this book- it’s an adventure from start to finish.
I thought this story was even darker and a much more of a mature read than the first two books, which I really like. Again, Ms. Chappell did a great job creating a rich and unique world(s), and building wonderful backstory, myths and in-depth lore around this imaginative tale. Her storytelling is creative, imaginative, detailed and descriptive.
The character development is quite good, the story abounds with interesting, unique and quirky characters.
    Great addition to the series!

    Thank you, Ms. Chappell!
