I would bet we are a lot alike. I believe in hard work, reverence for education, and that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. My life started out humbly in Tyler, Texas raised by my divorced mother with the help of three jobs and family. After overcoming my share of obstacles and graduating from UT, I saw that my experiences could minister to others in my circumstances a better way to breakthrough than where many of us, African Americans, were headed. This desire to show others the way led to a career in conservative writing, talk radio and politics emerged where I thought I and conservative politics knew best. It wasn't until I ran as a Republican Gubernatorial candidate in Texas that God corrected and humbled me in my heart and politics. What God revealed to me on the trail in my suffering, the suffering of those I met, and the arrogance of "knowing best," transformed and renewed my mind. I'm starting over and now sharing with you the corrections that have called me away from the "black, conservative, Tea Party, Republican" armor I put on to be relevant and have a platform. I hope these corrections will also touch your spirit and call you to care less about how people vote and much more how much you love them.

Eye opener of a book. Deep, touching and powerful.

I went into this book looking for reasons to judge Ms. Fritsch's decision to leave her political party behind, thinking she had "jumped ship" and abandoned her values. What I found was that she didn't need "a ship" to find her way safely to dry land.

This book isn't political, but it's perfect for political people, such as myself. I spend my days seeing everything through a political lens, and whether I'm right or wrong, it doesn't change anything or anyone. Lisa has thrown away that lens altogether and she sees people as people; as God's children.

This book has made me start to think differently, in a more human way that leads me to believe I can be who I am, minus the political strife. Sure, I can hold on to my values and vote for the best candidate, but I don't have to be a pawn n their chessboard.

It's a very quick read, but deep and enlightening. Quite an irony, for a reader who approached this book expecting to find more political fodder. Highly recommended!

Lisa is absolutely right, Christians are called to be the Salt and Light of the World, not a registered member of the GOP. She is brutally honest in correcting herself and stepping away from her former "platform." We can all learn something from this book about what it means to have faith, hope, and love in a world that is hungry for truth.

This is the best $.99 and 30 minutes that you will spend on a political book.

Lisa is speaking the truth in this book. As an educator I have seen a lot of kids grow up in our schools. They are wonderful citizens, or would be given the opportunity. I have witnessed the immigration bureaucracy first hand within our family and it is broken. I have yet to see unemployed Americans line up for the jobs immigrants take in our community.
We need to take a lesson on how the first immigrants were treated by the first Americans. Those of us who are not super wealthy need to support Lisa and take our government back!

The author points out that Christian conservatives have lost there way and are completely opposite of what Christ taught. This is how they ended up voting for Donald Trump. They have went in the opposite direction of what this author suggests, and have lost all morales and ethics.

Lisa Makes Practical Points

What I found useful about this book is that it guides the reader to make well-informed decisions based on their own research as opposed to relying on polls or media sources. Her book encourages critical thinking skills on the part of the voter rather than emotionally charged reactions. This is definitely a book for our times, and it is a courageous work I would recommend to others.
