My bedroom has been an icebox for 19 years, with poor or no insulation and leaky windows. I was always nervous to get a standing electric space heater due to blankets, carpeting, and a general fear of them causing a fire. The oil-filled heaters that I felt safer with barely get warm and didn't even make a dent in the cold draft.

Recently I thought of trying a baseboard-style heater that can go along the wall right in front of the (mostly cold) radiator. This one was simply-featured and very reasonably priced. Of course it has all of the safety cut-offs.

I can hardly believe it! I keep it only on LOW with a wall timer set to nighttime hours. For the first time in 19 years my bedroom is now comfortable and normal temperature all night! The thermostat works very well, reacting to the radiator just in case it goes on, and keeping the temperature perfectly even. I wish I had this years ago!

The heating part of the heater works well. However, the on off switch is to light duty, overheats and destroys itself. The red light on the unit is energized when the unit is plugged in. In my opinion the red light should only come on when the heater is actually switch to the on position. This would alert you that the heater was on. This way you can see the heater was on at a glance and from a distance. There would be no need to get closer and look at the switch position. In my opinion, if the manufacture would put heavier duty controls in the heater. It would be worth the extra cost and would probably last much longer. However, the way manufacturers make things anymore. They are intended to last very long. This is not a good thing for our planet. The one I purchased lasted approximately 11 months which it was only used about five heating season months. Purchased in January 2018. Stop working in November 2018. Did not use through the summer only used in the heating season. I live in the Northwest.

The heater worked well until just after the 30 day return period. Since it was past 30 days, I had to deal directly with the manufacturer. The manufacturer customer service is lackluster at best. It took two weeks of email communication to get a replacement started . Email response took 3 to 4 days from the company. Once they agreed to send a replacement, it took a week and a half before it even shipped.
