Break Free to Deceive (Escape from Reality) is set in Escape, Colorado and follows Deacon Jacobs and Torrence Miller as they fall in love.
Deacon works/owns the town auto repair shop.
Torrence is in the process of opening up the Break Free Spa and Resort.
The two meet when Torrence's car needs work and with a push from her friends she agrees to dinner with him. Torrence has a secret she is hiding from Deacon and it ends up driving them apart, but in the end it all works out.

My only complaint is that the book wasn't longer.

I've loved all of the books in the Escape from Reality Series and I was excited to read an ARC of this next installment. Rose Silverstone was a new-to-me author and I was eager to get to know her writing.
From the very beginning, I found that there was great banter between the characters. I loved getting to know them (old and new) and seeing them interact with one another. I found the arrangement Torrance was in to be very interesting and I was eager to see how all of that would play out. Deacon's pain in Chapter 3 was tangible. My heart ached for him and the loss he had endured.
Chapter 8 really ratcheted up the drama and pulled me even more deeply into the story. I was invested in these characters and wanted to see them come out on top. I also really loved how kind Deacon was to everyone in the town, especially those down on their luck. He was a fantastically developed character that truly made me swoon with his constant sweetness. He also had that sexy, sultry side that was very prominently displayed in Chapter 9. I was practically sated and exhausted right along with Torrance.
The drama that was getting ready to come to a head had me on the edge of my seat. I read with an urgency and need up to the finish. The ending had me absolutely speechless! It did a great job of shocking me and making me pound my fists on the table. The Epilogue made me feel a lot better about things, although I still wanted to know in more detail how they were able to get to this point.
I really enjoyed this book and thought the plot was unique and had terrific drama. There were a few times along the way that I would have liked more details to be expounded upon, but overall Break Free to Deceive was another wonderful journey to my favorite fictional town in Colorado. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

My first read from the author and I really enjoyed it. Meddling, greedy dad only interested in building up his bank account loses his wife and dtr bc of his stupidity. But the real story is the mechanic and the resort builder. A great second chance romance and sexy hot men too! Loved the story, concept, and characters. I received an ARC to read and review voluntarily.

I want a Deacon for myself!!

AMAZING!! You could feel the passion and heartache throughout the book. I could not put it down. Torrances friends Carly and Ming are great characters. My heart ached for Deacon. I am thankful that there was an epilogue that continued Deacon and Torrances story. I received this as an ARC.

This is the steamiest book of the Escape series so far! I love this series and thought Break Free to Deceive did an awesome job bringing some heat to this quirky fictional town. Well done, Ms. Silverstone.

This was an interesting read! I liked getting to know more about Deacon and seeing a highlight, a sneak peek, into the other Jacobs' boys as well. I was a bit thrown off by the sudden "ice" Tor was throwing Deacon's way after a certain hot scene, but I can't say more without spoiling the plot! This story was a nice addition in the fictional town of Escape, CO!
